WELCOME BACK---New School Year---2013-2014

School is back in session and the art room is full of new and familiar faces.

7th Grade Students are currently working on figure drawing.  Last week we painted with Tempera paint working with the subject of CATS.  Here are some examples of their work.

8th Grade Art

 

8th Graders worked on resist paintings last week.  Using crayons (wax) as the resist and watercolor paint.  The subject was butterflies.  We had some really unique results.  See examples below.

 

 

Seven More Weeks of School

We are getting closer to the end of the school year, but middle school art students are still very busy in the art room.

7th Grade is going to learn about gesture drawing next week.

8th Grade is working on Fashion Design Illustration.

Here are some photos of the 8th grade students working on their new assignment.  They are working from Fashion Magazines and are learning to create Fashion Design Illustrations.  They have the choice of using color pencils, watercolor paint and markers or a combination of all three.
